More Alumni Commit to ASU Leadership Summit in November

The Angelo State University Alumni Association has announced nine more alumni who are returning to campus Nov. 27-28 to participate in the association's first Alumni Leadership Summit.

The summit will bring to ASU more than 25 former students who have succeeded in a variety of fields. They will participate in classes and meetings with students, faculty and community leaders.

Sande Harrison, ASU director of alumni relations, said by sharing their knowledge and their success with ASU students, participants will reinforce the value of a degree from Angelo State.

"Our graduates have achieved success in a variety of fields," Harrison said. "The participants in the summit are just the tip of the iceberg of ASU successes."

The summit is being presented by Cox Communications with travel support from Leadership Summit sponsor Continental Airlines.

The latest alumni to commit to ASU Alumni Association Leadership Summit are:

Janis Carter Arnett, class of 1985 and 1988, lobbyist, legislative and government affairs, McGinnis, Lochridge and Kilgore, LLP, Austin; Blaine Brunson, '96, chief clerk, Texas Senate Finance Committee, Buda; Lloyd Farris, '83, manager, EM Gun Program, Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, Grand Prairie; Tim Gette, '68, chief operating officer, Dallas Museum of Natural History, Dallas; and Kelby Hagar, '91, vice president, Hunt New Business Development, L.P., and former owner, Groceryworks.com, Dallas.

Also, Walter D. Juliff, '76 and '81, assistant director of college scouting, Dallas Cowboys, Irving; Mike Millegan, '80, '82, senior vice president, Verizon, Irving; Renay San Miguel, '82, CNN Headline News, Atlanta; and Melody Wilkinson, '85, attorney, Cantey &Hanger, LLP, and past president, Texas Young Trial Lawyers Association, Fort Worth.

The Alumni Leadership Summit is being organized by the ASU Alumni Association in conjunction with the university. The honorary chairmen are Bob Gregory of Austin and F.L. "Steve" Stephens of San Angelo. Alumni Co-chairmen are Mark Stevenson and David Stinnett, both of San Angelo.
