Homecoming Parade Scheduled Saturday at ASU

The Angelo State University Student Government Association will host the annual Homecoming Parade Saturday, Oct. 20, with the theme of "Rams 2001: A Sports Odyssey."

The parade will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday and will travel along Vanderventer Avenue and Johnson Street on the ASU Campus.

Participants in the parade will include the Ram Band, various student organizations, community groups, businesses, special guests and ASU's 2001 Distinguished Alumni.

One of the featured guests for the parade will be film producer M. Cevin Cathell. She has come to San Angelo from California and has been assisting students interested in filmmaking.

ASU Student Body President Charles Landers said the parade will be a great opportunity for the San Angelo community to join with ASU students, faculty and staff to participate in the parade or to simply a chance to sit back and relax as colorful floats and spirited students pass by.

Landers said the parade will allow students to show their school spirit prior to ASU's Homecoming game against Northeastern State at 7 p.m. Saturday in San Angelo Stadium.

Landers said the Angelo State University Student Government invites and welcomes everyone to come and enjoy this grand event.
