ASU's Registered Nurse Program Accepting Applications for Summer Enrollment
Angelo State University's Department of Nursing is accepting applications through March 1 for the registered nurse program that begins May 27.
No previous college experience or prerequisite courses are required to enter the RN program. Students complete the program in 24 months and are then eligible to take the state licensing exam to become registered nurses.
The ASU Nursing Department's academic calendar for the RN program begins every summer. Applicants interested in beginning their nursing studies at ASU this year should seek acceptance for summer enrollment.
Requirements to enter the nursing program are admission to the university and an ACT cumulative score of 20 or an SAT cumulative score of 930. Applicants with previous college experience must satisfy a GPA requirement. Applicants who already have a bachelor's or higher degree and are interested in a career change to professional nursing are exempt from taking the ACT or SAT exam.
For the convenience of applicants, ASU is offering the ACT exam on Feb. 8 and April 12. Applications for admission to the university and information about the ACT exam can be obtained from the Office of Admissions by calling 942-2185.
