ASU Trumpet Ensemble Invited to International Conference
The Angelo State University Trumpet Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. John Irish, has been invited to perform at the 28th Annual International Trumpet Guild (ITG) Conference this May on the campus of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.
Trumpet ensembles from around the world were asked to submit recordings for consideration to fill the prestigious "Trumpet Prelude" slots at the conference. The ASU ensemble has been notified of their selection to perform during one of these openings on the program.
All live performances at the conference will be recorded, photographed and reviewed immediately afterward for uploading to the ITG website. The site is accessible worldwide, often within hours of a performance's completion.
An in-depth article, highlighting reviews and photos of the conference, including ASU's participation, will also be published in the October issue of Journal of the International Trumpet Guild. The Journal reaches over 7,000 readers in 60 countries around the world.
Prior to performing in the ITG Conference, the ASU Trumpet Ensemble will present a recital along with ASU's Flute Choir April 14 in the Carr Recital Hall. The ensemble will perform a variety of trumpet repertoire along with the pieces that will be performed for the international conference.
Previous ITG conferences have taken place in England, New York, Indiana and Virginia and have featured many of the world's finest trumpet artists, clinicians and ensembles.
