ASU to Host Texas State University System Regents May 7-8

The Texas State University System (TSUS) Board of Regents will meet at Angelo State University Wednesday and Thursday, May 7-8, to conduct regular business for the system's nine institutions.

The board will convene at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday and at 9 a.m. Thursday in the University Theater of the Houston Harte University Center on the ASU campus.

In ASU business, the board will consider adopting proposed curriculum changes, establishing an animal business major for a bachelor of science degree in agriculture, modifying the admission requirements for the master of physical therapy degree, approving budget adjustments and reviewing recommendations for designated tuition and fees for the fall semester.

Regents will also decide upon contracting with firms to provide vending concessions and custodial services at ASU, granting tenure and promotions to ASU faculty, approving the appointment of the AEP-West Texas Utilities Distinguished Visiting Professor and accepting major gifts to the university.

The TSUS board serves as the governing body for ASU as well as Lamar University, Lamar Institute of Technology, Lamar State College-Orange, Lamar State College-Port Arthur, Sam Houston State University, Southwest Texas State University, Sul Ross State University and Sul Ross State University-Rio Grande College.
