Tomlin to Head International Trade Educators Organization
Dr. Sharynn M. Tomlin, associate professor of management and coordinator of international studies at Angelo State University, has been elected president of the North American Small Business International Trade Educators (NASBITE) association.
Tomlin will serve as NASBITE president for 2003-04. She was elected at the organization's annual spring meeting in San Antonio. Tomlin has been on the ASU faculty since 1987.
NASBITE is an association of international trade specialists and educators dedicated to excellence in the field of international trade and education. This year's convention drew participants from Puerto Rico, Germany and the Ukraine as well as from throughout North America.
The association is working in conjunction with the Professional Examination Service to develop a certification in international trade as a credential for educators and practitioners directly involved in international trade and related training and support. Tomlin will direct this process leading up to the administering of the first certification exam next year.
Tomlin holds her bachelor of business administration and her master of business administration from ASU. She received her doctorate from the University of North Texas. She is a past president of the ASU Faculty Senate and active on numerous committees for both the university and the College of Business and Professional Studies.
