ASU Police Chief Participates in Homeland Security Training

Angelo State University Police Chief James E. Adams recently completed an interactive workshop on "The Role of Local Intelligence in Homeland Security."

The program was designed to address the special issues faced by local law enforcement agencies, including university police departments, in ensuring public safety during an era of international terrorism.

The course was offered through the Texas Regional Community Policing Institute in Sam Houston State University's College of Criminal Justice.

Adams was one of 50 law enforcement officials invited to participate in the workshop statewide. In addition to helping participants develop strategies for the assessment and prevention of terrorism, the seminar also examined the role of local law enforcement agencies in the changing landscape of homeland security.
