Program Set Oct. 2 for Individuals Interested in Graduate School

An informational program aimed at individuals who are considering graduate school is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 2, on the campus of Angelo State University.

ASU Graduate Dean Carol Diminnie will present the informational session "Grad School & You" for anyone interested in attending graduate school. The session will benefit both current college students and individuals who may have received their undergraduate degrees years earlier, but are now considering graduate school either as a way to advance their current careers or to move into new careers.

Two sessions of the program are scheduled on Oct. 2. The first session will be held at 12:30 p.m. and the second at 7 p.m., both in the University Center Theater on the first floor of the Houston Harte University Center on the ASU Campus. The University Center is located at 1910 Rosemont.

Topics to be covered during each session will include reasons to attend graduate school, where to go for information, how to prepare for graduate school and what ASU's Graduate School has to offer. Diminnie, graduate advisers and financial aid representatives will then be available to answer individual questions.

Diminnie said the rapid pace of change in today's highly technical world makes ongoing education critical to the long-term success of a career. She said a graduate degree is becoming more and more important for career success and advancement.
