ASU's Reames Appointed to Info Science Editorial Review Board
Dr. Steve A. Reames, an assistant professor of management information systems at Angelo State University, has been appointed to the editorial review board of the international Journal of Information Systems Education.
The peer review journal is published by the Association of Information Technology Professionals and its Educational Special Interest Group to improve information science education. For the past three years, Reames has been a reviewer of articles for the journal as well as two other professional publications.
Dr. Tom Badgett, who heads the Department of Management and Marketing where Reames teaches, said, "To become a member of the editorial board is a major honor because it recognizes that a faculty member possess the knowledge, skills and educational talent to review and approve a colleague's research or ideas in his or her discipline. This is a major accomplishment by one of our newest faculty members."
Reames joined the ASU faculty in 2002. He taught previously at Sam Houston State University, University of Houston and University of Maryland-Japan. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of North Texas as well as his doctoral degree in information science.
As an editorial review board member, Reames will review international journal manuscripts and make recommendations on whether or not they should be published. The overall goal, he said, is to help broaden the field and professional understanding of information science.
