Texas State University System Board to Meet at ASU May 6-7

The Texas State University System Board of Regents will conduct its regular May meeting Thursday through Friday, May 6-7, on the campus of Angelo State University.

Working sessions will begin at 2:45 p.m. Thursday and at 9 a.m. Friday in the University Theater in the Houston Harte University Center on the ASU campus.

ASU agenda items include consideration of establishing a master of science in biology with emphasis on science education; starting a master of science in nursing; and modifying 32 courses in the curriculum.

Regents will consider ratifying the construction contract for the Food Safety and Product Development Lab at the Management, Instruction and Research Center. The board will also consider awarding a contract for additional renovation of the West Texas Training Center facility as well as amending a land lease with the City of San Angelo regarding insurance coverage for the WTTC.

Board members will review recommended appointment to a planning committee for the ASU Master Plan. They will also consider a revised lease with Concho Educators Federal Credit Union and a contract for food services at the WTTC.

The board will also review routine budget adjustments, regular personnel actions and gift acknowledgements.

The TSUS board serves as the governing body for ASU and the other eight institutions making up the system. The other institutions are Lamar University, Lamar Institute of Technology, Lamar State College-Orange, Lamar State College-Port Arthur, Sam Houston State University, Sul Ross State University, Sul Ross State University-Rio Grande College and Texas State University-San Marcos.
