Texas State University System Board to Meet in Beaumont
The Texas State University System Board of Regents will consider routine Angelo State University business during a meeting Wednesday through Friday, Feb. 25-27, on the campus of Lamar University in Beaumont.
Working sessions are scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday, 9 a.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday in the Map Room of the John Gray Center on the Lamar campus.
ASU agenda items include consideration of establishing a bachelor of science in interdisciplinary studies, natural resource management; adding a nurse educator track to the master of science in nursing program; and reviewing 12th class day reports.
Regents will also consider contract awards for mechanical renovation of the Massie Women's Residence Hall and a mechanical upgrade for the West Texas Training Center. Other agenda items are consideration of the purchase of the ASU Lakehouse property from the City of San Angelo and the awarding of a contract for a firm to develop a comprehensive master plan.
The board will also consider routine budget adjustments, regular personnel actions and gift acknowledgements.
The TSUS board serves as the governing body for ASU and the other eight institutions making up the system. The other institutions are Lamar University, Lamar Institute of Technology, Lamar State College-Orange, Lamar State College-Port Arthur, Sam Houston State University, Sul Ross State University, Sul Ross State University-Rio Grande College and Texas State University-San Marcos.
