ASU College of Sciences Names Medical Center, Everhart Scholarship Recipients
The Angelo State University College of Sciences has announced the recipients of the San Angelo Community Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship and the Dr. Merrill W. Everhart Scholarship in Science for the 2004-05 academic year.
Junior biology major Lori Stuart of Abilene will be awarded the San Angelo Community Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship of $1,300. Junior physics major Eddie Holik III of Veribest will receive the $1,000 Everhart Scholarship.
Stuart is a member of Tri-Beta Biological Honor Society, Sigma Phi Lambda Sisters for the Lord and Student Alumni Association. She plans to become a dermatologist.
Holik is a member of the Society of Physics Students. He is active in sports and in the Baptist Student Ministry and House of Faith.
The San Angelo Community Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship is open to ASU students who graduated from a Texas high school and are majoring in any medical or medically related field.
The Everhart Scholarship was created by the last will and testament of Mrs. Julia Tidwell Everhart in honor of Dr. Everhart. The bequest funds an annual scholarship for a student majoring in one of the sciences at ASU.
The two recipients will be honored during a 2-3 p.m. reception Friday, March 26, in the Conference Room of the Vincent Nursing-Physical Science Building.
