ASU Offers Saturday German Classes for Elementary Students

Free German language classes will be offered Saturdays this fall at Angelo State University for San Angelo area children ages 8-11.

"German for Kids" will be taught Saturdays, Oct. 9 through Nov. 6, by Dr. Elisabeth-Christine Muelsch, a faculty member of the ASU Department of Modern Languages and a native of Germany.

The classes are scheduled 12:30-2 p.m. Saturdays in Room 121 of the Academic Building.

"Learning a foreign language becomes a necessity as the cultures of our world grow increasingly interdependent," Muelsch said.

The free classes continue a program started by Dr. Otto Tetzlaff, interim head of the ASU Department of Modern Languages, to interest children in the study of foreign languages.

The only requirement for the program is that parents deliver and pick up their children on time. For more information about this class, please contact Muelsch or the Department of Modern Languages at 942-2245, Ext. 275.
