Cross Canadian Ragweed to Perform at ASU
Cross Canadian Ragweed will bring its brand of chart-topping Texas music to the Angelo State University campus on Saturday, April 30.
The band, whose song "Sick and Tired" was the No. 1 single in 2004 according to the Texas Music Chart, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Junell Center/Stephens Arena, 2235 S. Jackson St.
Cross Canadian Ragweed's "Lonely Girl" is No. 8 on the Texas Music Chart and the group's videos have received regular play on Country Music Television. "Lonely Girl" is on the band's second Universal South album titled "Soul Gravy." The album was released last spring.
Cross Canadian Ragweed includes front man and lead guitarist Cody Canada, drummer Randy Ragsdale, rhythm guitarist Grady Cross and bassist Jeremy Plato, all Oklahoma natives.
The Eli Young Band will open the show. The band's song "Small Town Kid" is No. 12 on the Texas Music Chart. The group met at the University of North Texas and released their current album "Level" earlier this month.
Tickets are available at the Information Desk in the Houston Harte University Center or Junell Center ticket office Friday. The Junell Center ticket office will open at noon on Saturday. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 942-BLUE. Tickets are $12 for ASU students and $15 for faculty, staff and children younger than 12. Tickets are $18 for the general public.
