Showcase to Highlight ASU's Continuing Studies Offerings for Spring

The Continuing Studies Spring Showcase Saturday, Jan. 15, at Sunset Mall will allow Concho Valley residents to meet with instructors and learn about various courses being offered this spring through Angelo State University's Division of Continuing Studies.

The free showcase is scheduled 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Sunset Mall meeting area, adjacent to the Sears entrance to the mall concourse. Continuing studies instructors will be available to discuss course content and goals, and displays will highlight various courses.

Demonstrations are scheduled for the following courses: Scratchboard Art, 11-11:30 a.m.; Tunisian Crochet and Diagonal Magic Crochet, 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.; Jewelry Making, 12:15-12:30 p.m.; Watercolor Pencils, 12:30-1:30 p.m.; Creative Photo/Scrapbook Albums, 1:30-2 p.m.; Country and Western Dance, 2-3 p.m.; and Glitzy Girl Makeover, 3-3:30 p.m.

"We wanted to offer the public a fun way to visit with our faculty and to see demonstrations of some of our offerings," said Deborah Palmer, director of the Division of Continuing Studies. "Participants often have questions that cannot be answered about a class in a printed paragraph. Now they can meet the teacher and ask whatever questions they need to make a decision. They also can explore the wide range of classes we offer."

More than 125 classes are scheduled this spring. For more information or to register, call the Division of Continuing Studies at (325) 942-2339.
