Angelo State Grad Returning as Alumni Director

Lynsey Hargrave Flage, a 1997 graduate of Angelo State University, is returning to her alma mater as director of alumni relations, effective Aug. 15.

Michael P. Ryan, ASU's vice president for advancement and university relations, announced the appointment. In addition to serving as the university's director of alumni relations, Flage will work as secretary/treasurer with the ASU Alumni Association and its 1,000 members. She succeeds Sande V. Harrison in the position.

Flage has been affiliated with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation-Northeast Texas in Dallas for the last four years. She has served the non-profit organization as office manager and coordinator of special events for the past 28 months. Prior to that, she held a post for 18 months as director of the foundation's Great Strides fundraisers and coordinated eight benefit walks.

Previously, she worked for the Girls Scouts of Tejas Council in Dallas as publications manager and assistant director of communications. Her responsibilities included a variety of writing, publication, event planning and volunteer training assignments.

Ryan said that Flage's experience and her educational background fit nicely with the requirements of the job. Further, he said her enthusiasm for and knowledge of ASU will serve the institution well.

During her tenure as an ASU student, Flage served three years as a tour guide for the university Admissions Office while working on her bachelor's degree in communications with a specialization in public relations. She also completed a double minor in marketing and management at ASU. She graduated magna cum laude from ASU. She graduated as the salutatorian of Brownfield High School in 1993.
