'Real' Housemates to Speak at ASU
Several cast members of MTV's hit reality show "The Real World" will stop being "Real" and start being nice when they speak to ASU students at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, in the Davidson Conference Center.
The panel discussion will feature Danny and Mel from "The Real World: Austin," and Landon from "The Real World: Philadelphia." The trio will talk about their experiences on the show and will take questions from audience members.
A meet and greet reception will follow the talk. The panel and reception are sponsored by the University Center Program Council Speakers Committee.
Danny's debut on "The Real World" was a painful one, as he took a literally crushing blow to his face during a street fight in the season opener. Things went downhill from there for Danny, with his estranged mother dying during filming of the show.
Fortunately, Danny found Mel, and their budding romantic relationship was one of the major plot lines of the Austin season. Whether Danny and Mel stayed together after filming is anybody's guess - and it's a question that may be answered during the Dec. 1 ASU presentation.
Landon's curly locks and beefy physique made the ladies in Philadelphia swoon, but his late-night antics caused some tense moments. His most recent television appearance was as a member of the Good Guys team on "Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Inferno II."
Tickets for the show are $5 for the general public, $4 for children 12 and younger and ASU faculty and staff, and $3 for ASU students. Tickets are on sale at the information desk in the Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont, and in the Center for Student Involvement on the Garden Level of the University Center.
