Angelo State University will welcome prospective students and their families to campus on Saturday, Oct. 29, for the first "Discover ASU" program of the academic year.

Discover ASU allows prospective students to visit campus and see what Angelo State has to offer in the way of academic programs, facilities and opportunities for intellectual and personal growth.

Activities will begin with check-in at 8:30 a.m. in the Houston Harte University Center on the ASU campus. The general welcome session will begin at 9:15 a.m. to be followed by a guided tour of campus and a free lunch for prospects and their families at the university's newly renovated Food Service Center.

Informational sessions on various topics are scheduled from noon until 2 p.m. Topics will include financial aid, Carr Academic Scholarships, student organizations, residence halls and extracurricular activities. Special sessions will cover academic and pre-professional programs and give students an opportunity to meet with faculty and administrators.

Students and their families will also receive complimentary tickets to attend the ASU Rams football game against Tarleton State University at 2 p.m. Oct. 29 in San Angelo Stadium.
