ASU Education Programs Accepting Applications
The Angelo State University Department of Teacher Education currently is taking applications for its online superintendent certification program and its master's program in higher education student administration.
Applicants to the superintendent certification program must hold the Principal's Certificate or its equivalent. The online coursework is supplemented by working with a local superintendent, and a practicum is required. After the student completes five three-hour courses, he must receive a passing score in the Superintendent TExES exam to receive certification.
The higher education student administration master's degree program is a series of night courses that prepares the master's candidate for student administration positions at two-year or four-year institutions. It is the only program of its kind within a 200-mile radius of San Angelo and began this fall. It does not require a teaching certificate.
