ASU to Celebrate Nation's Founding Document in Honor of Constitution Day
Angelo State University students, faculty and staff will share in the celebration of the nation's Constitution by reading from the document Friday, Sept. 16, in the Houston Harte University Center.
The reading, in recognition of Constitution Day the next day, will run 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday in the lobby adjacent to the Information Desk in the University Center.
Similar celebrations are scheduled throughout the week at colleges and universities across the country to help bring attention to the document that shaped the rights, freedoms and privileges all of us enjoy as citizens of the United States.The reading is sponsored by the College of Liberal and Fine Arts and the Department of Government, which maintains a website on the Constitution.
The site includes an annotated version of the U.S. Constitution, links to related historical documents such as the Mayflower Compact, a biographical guide to the Founding Fathers, links to websites such as the National Constitution Center and a daily quiz question.
