Center for Student Involvement

Additional Student Involvement Services

The Center for Student Involvement provides a number of services designed to meet various needs of the student body and of the University. Housed on the Garden Level of the Houston Harte University Center in Room 001, the Student Involvement staff facilitates the programs of the UC Program Council, Greek Life, Multicultural Programs, Student Organizations and Leadership Program, as well as the distribution of important information to the University and San Angelo communities.

The Center for Student Involvement provides office space for the Associate Dean for Student Involvement, the Coordinator for Student Programs and Activities, and the Coordinator for Multicultural and Greek Activities.

Student Organization Training

CSI staff are available by appointment to help your organization with its training needs. In addition to general student organization orientation sessions, training can be developed for your group on topics such as running meetings, event planning, and diversity awareness.

Posting Information & Stamping

The Center for Student Involvement is responsible for disseminating information regarding posting on campus for registered student organizations. Informational posting brochures are available at the Information Desk and in the CSI, including places on campus where flyers may be placed. Properly formatted publicity may be stamped here for promotion of student-sponsored events. If you have any questions after reviewing the Posting Rules and Regulations, please contact the CSI Office at (325) 942-2062 or program@angelo.edu.

Monthly Calendar

The Program Council publishes a monthly calendar highlighting their events, but also including important university and athletic events. Your free copy is available at the Information Desk on the ground floor of the University Center or in the Center for Student Involvement.

This Week At ASU

The Program Office produces a weekly newletter announcing events of general interest that are happening in the University Center and at ASU. This newsletter is distributed to university offices and to organization mailboxes, with additional copies being available at the Information Desk. To get your activity included, call 942-2062 or send a message to the Program Office, Program@Angelo.Edu.

Student Organization Resources

The Associate Dean for Student Involvement and Coordinator for Student Programs and Activities are available by appointment to work with any student group. Topics that can be presented for your organization include time management, event planning, publicity and promotion, and leadership styles and skills. A seminar designed to meet your group's particular needs may be arranged if enough notice is given.

RamPort Information / Groups

Organizations can get upcoming events publicized through the appropriate RamPort channel by working with the Associate Dean. Groups can also set up a RamPort group to help manage their organization's communications by attending a small training session, also facilitated by the Associate Dean.

Student Organization Storage / Supplies

Need a place to store organization materials? The Center for Student Involvement has a limited number of large and small lockable lockers to place materials that would normally just get lost in your residence hall room or apartment. Contact the Associate Dean to find out how to get a locker assigned to your group.

We also have a limited amount of office supplies - staples and staplers, folders, tape, etc. - to help with your organizational needs. The CSI also carries a variety of colored banner paper and paints for use in letting the campus know about your group's activities. Contact the CSI Secretary for information on using those supplies.
