TurnItIn
TurnItIn is a plagiarism prevention service that identifies papers containing unoriginal material. Papers submitted to TurnItIn are compared with a comprehensive database of plagiarizable material and given an "originality" score.
Create a User Profile
Go to TurnItIn.Com. Click create a user profile in the upper right corner. Follow the directions on the screen. Note: you will need an Account ID and a Join Password to create a profile. You can get this information from your department head.

The Student Quickstart contains instructions for students. Feel free to print this out and hand it out to your students.
