Earth Science: It’s Elementary

Science Professional Development for Elementary Teachers

Earth Science: It’s Elementary (ESIE) is a grant-funded project that will increase the knowledge and skills of elementary teachers in earth science topics.

This yearlong process strives to help teachers:

  • Gain a greater knowledge and depth of understanding regarding earth science
  • Integrate earth science topics into their teaching using inquiry-based methods

Participants meet for an intensive two-week summer institute on the ASU campus followed with meetings spaced throughout the 2014-15 school year.

All participants will have the opportunity to attend the Conference for the Advancement of Science Teaching (CAST) in November 2014 in Dallas. A spring 2015 one-day conference will wrap up the program.
