Emergency Preparedness

President Joseph C. Rallo

Angelo State University has developed and implemented a comprehensive system to help our students, faculty and staff prepare for any emergency. Our goal is to ensure that you have the information and resources needed to respond to any situation. Sadly, universities have seen a variety of emergencies over the past few years, ranging from natural disasters, such as hurricanes, to shots fired on campus. Our goal is to help you prepare for any eventuality and return safely to the normal routine of life on campus.

Our emergency preparedness professionals, especially our university police force, train regularly to meet multiple types of emergency scenarios. The ASUAlert system provides immediate warning to you by phone and e-mail about emergency situations. Card reader access to our residence halls and emergency blue lights on campus are all designed to guarantee your safety.

I also encourage you to take steps to be prepared for any situation. Most importantly, please confirm that your contact information in the ASUAlert system is accurate and up to date. While on campus, remain attentive to your surroundings and report any suspicious behavior. If an alert is issued, please treat it seriously and take action as directed.

If you have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact our Emergency Management Office at (325) 942-2180.
