Robert G. Carr and Nona K. Carr Scholarship Foundation
Mr. and Mrs. Robert G. Carr were longtime friends and supporters of Angelo State University. Prior to their deaths they exerted a profound influence on the progress and development of Angelo State University. As final expressions of their confidence in the University and their deep commitment to its future progress, Mr. and Mrs. Carr made significant financial provisions for Angelo State University. They bequeathed to the Board of Regents as Trustees for the use and benefit of Angelo State University, their very significant joint interests in oil, gas, and other minerals with the provision that these properties be held in trust for the purpose of providing academic scholarships for the needy and worthy students who are enrolled at Angelo State University. This public, charitable, and educational trust has been designated as the Angelo State University Robert G. Carr and Nona K. Carr Scholarship Foundation. Today, the principal of the trust is valued at over $61 million.
