Transfer Students
Criteria for SelectionCarr Academic Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis, with priority given to individuals of high academic ability. Additional funding may be available depending upon financial need and the review of the scholarship application and reference form.
- Transfer students must have at least 30 semester credit hours (SCH) earned with a minimum 3.40 cumulative grade point average (GPA) by the February 1 application deadline.

Amounts of Scholarship Awards
The scholarship awards for the academic year range in value from $2,000 to $4,500 for full-time undergraduate students. The average awards are approximately $2,900.
A scholarship awarded to a transfer student may be renewed for the number of semesters normally required for completion of the first baccalaureate degree.
Deadline for Applications
February 1 is the priority deadline to submit a complete application and all supporting materials. Applications may be considered after this priority deadline, to the extent that funds are available.
Selection and Notification of Scholarship Recipients
Applicants for Carr Academic Scholarships will be notified in writing regarding the status of their applications. The decisions on scholarship awards are final and are not subject to appeal.
Out-Of-State Tuition Waivers
Carr Academic Scholarships awarded to out-of-state and international students will normally qualify such students to pay the tuition and fees required of Texas residents.
Transfer Students
A transfer student who applies for a Carr Academic Scholarship must also submit an Application for Admission to Angelo State University through the Admissions Office. The award of a Carr Academic Scholarship assures admission to the University, subject to the timely submission of the required documents specified in the University Bulletin.
Carr Academic Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, color, religion, age, gender, national origin, or disability.
The criteria and procedures for scholarship awards and the application dates and deadlines may be changed by Angelo State University without notice.
