Since surpassing the $35 million goal in its momentous first capital campaign, Angelo State University has continued on a record-breaking pace with supporters contributing more than $12 million during the 2013-14 fiscal year.
“We are having our best fundraising year ever,” said Jamie Akin, ASU executive director of development and alumni relations.
This past May, Akin announced the single largest donation in ASU history, $4.5 million from an anonymous donor to fund construction of a facility for a proposed civil engineering degree program.Read more on this story.
Angelo State University Alumni Association members are being offered an opportunity to purchase discounted $5 tickets to the Rams and Rambelles basketball games that begin their Lone Star Conference schedule on Wednesday, Jan. 7, in the Junell Center/Stephens Arena, 2235 S. Jackson St.
In recognition of Angelo State University’s former basketball coach and retired Athletic Director Phil George, an anonymous donor has offered to match donations up to a total of $20,000 to the Phil and Toddy George Endowment for Athletic Scholarships. The donation match will be in effect until Jan. 1.
Angelo State University has presented 33 undergraduate students with 2014-15 academic scholarships funded by a $34,000 grant from Stripes Convenience Stores through the Stripes College Scholarship Fund.
