    Description: Growing Catalog of Art Museum Images Online documenting works of art from around the world, representing the collections of prominent museums. CAMIO highlights the creative output of cultures around the world, from prehistoric to contemporary times, covering the complete range of expressive forms.

  • Children’s Literature Comprehensive Database image

    Description: Offers 900,000 catalog records and more than 130,000 reviews of children’s books and other materials for children. It also includes entries for more than 200,000 awards, prizes, best book list and reading list entries.

    The database can be searched by author, title, subject, keyword or phrase, or across the full text of a review. Searches can be limited by genre (such as biography, mystery, atlases, etc.), language, publisher, and other criteria.

  • Choice Reviews Online image

    Description: Internet version of the monthly print magazine Choice, it is directed at academic librarians and faculty as a premier resource for collection development and scholarly research. It covers more than 50 sub-disciplines spanning the humanities, science and technology, and the social and behavioral sciences.

    Each issue contains approximately 600 reviews of recent books and electronic resources (including websites), a bibliographic essay that explores the literature in a specific topic, and “Feature” articles on current issues in the library field.

    Description: Provides a comprehensive overview of the support services and information resources available for people diagnosed with a chronic illness. It details the wide range of organizations, educational materials, books, newsletters, web sites, periodicals and databases that address 88 specific chronic illnesses.

  • CINAHL with Full Text imageimageimage

    Description: This database indexes more than 3,000 journals covering nursing, biomedicine, health sciences librarianship, alternative/complementary medicine, consumer health and 17 allied health disciplines.

    Full text is available from 610 periodical titles, with coverage dating back to 1981.

    In addition, this database offers access to health care books, nursing dissertations, selected conference proceedings, standards of practice, educational software, audiovisuals and book chapters. Searchable cited references for more than 1,290 journals are also included.

  • Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System image

    Description: Publicly available website providing record look-up capability on individuals who served during the United States Civil War. Other information includes: unit histories for both the Union and Confederate Armies, descriptions of 384 significant battles, sailors records, prisoner of war records, burial records, medal of honor recipients, and other historical information.

    The primary goal of the CWSS is to provide an interpretive tool on the Civil War for the National Park Service Civil War Battlefield Parks and other Civil War-related Park units. An additional objective is to increase the American people’s understanding of this decisive era in American history by making information about it widely accessible.

    Description: CLASE indexes documents published in Latin American journals specializing in the social sciences and humanities. PERIODICA covers journals specializing in science and technology.

    This database offers access to more than 300,000 bibliographic citations from documents published in 2,600 scholarly journals. Contains information from articles, essays, book reviews, monographs, conference proceedings, technical reports, interviews and brief notes published in journals edited in 24 different countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as from publications that focus on Pan-American issues.

    Description: Provides practitioners with the most up-to-date, independent, and assessed healthcare information, protocols, systematic reviews, abstracts, technology assessments, economic evaluations, and clinical trials abstracts.

    It contains the following databases:

    • Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR) - leading resource for full-text systematic reviews in health care
    • Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effectiveness (DARE) - contains abstracts of systematic reviews that have been quality-assessed - each abstract includes a summary of the review together with a critical commentary about the overall quality
    • Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL) - includes title and summary information of published articles taken from bibliographic databases (notably MEDLINE and EMBASE), and other published and unpublished sources
    • Cochrane Methodology Register (CMR) - bibliography of publications that report on methods used in the conduct of controlled trials - includes journal articles, books, and conference proceedings (no longer updated)
    • Health Technology Assessment Database (HTA) - brings together details of completed and ongoing health technology assessments (studies of the medical, social, ethical, and economic implications of healthcare interventions) from around the world to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of health care
    • NHS Economic Evaluator Database (EED) - assists decision-makers by systematically identifying economic evaluations from around the world, appraising their quality, and highlighting their relative strengths and weaknesses

    Description: Database of article abstracts, books, bibliographic records, and other sources of relevance to researchers, scholars, and students interested in fields related to human communication studies (mass communication, human interaction, rhetoric, health communication, communication and new media, journalism, communication history, etc.).

  • Communication & Mass Media Complete imageimage

    Description: Incorporates CommSearch (formerly produced by the National Communication Association) and Mass Media Articles Index (formerly produced by Penn State) along with numerous other journals in communication, mass media, and other closely-related fields of study.

    Offers cover-to-cover (“core”) indexing and abstracts for more than 570 journals, and selected (“priority”) coverage of nearly 200 more, for a combined coverage of more than 770 titles. Furthermore, this database includes full text for over 450 journals.

    Description: Provides complete biographical and bibliographical information and references on all of the more than 120,000 U.S. and international authors whose entries appear in Contemporary Authors and Contemporary Authors New Revision Series.

    Updated monthly, this resource allows users to search for an author by name, title of work, nationality, date and place of birth and death, subject/genre, personal and career information, awards and honors, and more.

    Description: Extensive collection of more than 11,000 critical essays on contemporary authors. Each entry contains a biographical/critical introduction, a list of principal works, critical essays, and sources for further study.

    Updated monthly, CLC–Select allows users to search by author name, title of work, nationality, subject/genre, ethnicity, critic name, and more.
