    Description: A vast, integrated network of electronic scientific and technical information created by scientists and research engineers active in their respective fields, all full-text searchable. Intended for use by other scientists, engineers, and students at advanced levels.

    Gateway to over 35,300 websites and databases worldwide, containing over 5.5 million e-prints in basic and applied sciences, primarily in physics but also including subject areas such as chemistry, biology and life sciences, materials science, nuclear sciences and engineering, energy research, computer and information technologies, and other disciplines of interest to DOE.

    Description: Provides access to over 32,000 full-text scholarly, reference and professional eBooks from leading university, academic and professional publishers. These eBooks are digital versions of print books from a broad range of subject areas and topics.

    Attention: Access is limited to a maximum of 4 simultaneous users.

    Description: Produced by the American Economic Association, this database provides citations and abstracts of articles in all fields of economics, including capital markets, country studies, econometrics, economic forecasting, environmental economics, government regulations, labor economics, monetary theory, urban economics and much more.

    Uses the Journal of Economic Literature classification system and controlled vocabulary of keywords to index six types of records: journal articles, books, collective volume articles, dissertations, working papers, and full-text book reviews from JEL.

    Description: Designed to meet the needs of education students, professionals and policy makers, this extensive collection includes full text for more than 1,700 journals, 550 books and monographs, education-related conference papers, and citations for over 4 million articles including book reviews.

    Coverage spans all levels of education from early childhood to higher education and also includes educational specialties such as multilingual education, health education and testing.

  • Educational Administration Abstracts 

    Description: Includes bibliographic records covering areas related to educational administration, including educational leadership, educational management, educational research, and other areas of key relevance to the discipline.

    The index contains more than 190,000 records, carefully selected from the most important sources within the discipline, such as Educational Administration Quarterly, Review of Higher Education, Journal of Educational Administration, etc. Coverage dates back to 1966.

    Description: Fast and easy access to high-quality, comprehensive information.

    The rich combination of content, from the insightful Encyclopædia Britannica plus Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary and Thesaurus, to magazines, periodicals, and many other research tools provides the variety of reliable sources that students need to consult when conducting thorough research—all from one resource.

  • Engineering Village

    Description: From the Engineering Village platform, authorized users can search the following two databases simultaneously (to search each one exclusively, on the search page, uncheck the box of the database to be excluded from the search):
    Compendex: The most comprehensive bibliographic database of scientific and technical engineering research available, covering all engineering disciplines. It includes millions of bibliographic citations and abstracts from thousands of engineering journals and conference proceedings.
    GeoRef: established by the American Geological Institute in 1966, provides access to the geoscience literature of the world. GeoRef is the most comprehensive database in the geosciences and continues to grow by more than 90,000 references a year. The database contains over 2.9 million references to geoscience journal articles, books, maps, conference papers, reports and theses.

  • Entrez 

    Description: NCBI’s primary text search and retrieval system that integrates the PubMed database of biomedical literature with 39 other literature and molecular databases including DNA and protein sequence, structure, gene, genome, genetic variation and gene expression.

    Entrez’ 40 databases are organized into three sections on the Global Query page. The top section contains the literature databases: PubMed, PubMed Central, Books, OMIM and OMIA. The 26 molecular databases occupy the largest central section of the page. The bottom section hosts the accessory literature databases Journals, MeSH, and NLM Catalog.

  • ERIC (via EBSCOhost) 

    Description: The ‘Education Resource Information Center’ (ERIC) provides access to information from journals included in the Current Index of Journals in Education and Resources in Education Index. The database contains more than 1.3 million records and links to more than 323,000 full-text documents dating back to 1966.

    Description: A guide to published and unpublished sources on education. ERIC includes some full-text documents at no charge.

    Description: Produced by the H.W. Wilson Company, this database cites records contained in collections of essays and miscellaneous works published in the United States, Great Britain, and Canada.

    Areas covered include the humanities and social sciences, with subject coverage ranging from economics, political science, and history to criticism of literary works, art history, drama, and film.

  • Europa World Online 

    Description: Online version of the Europa World Year Book, provides detailed country surveys containing the latest analytical, statistical and directory data available for over 250 countries and territories.

  • European Views of the Amer (1493-1750)

    Description: The database contains more than 32,000 entries and is a comprehensive guide to printed records about the Americas written in Europe before 1750.
