To find the information needed quickly for your assignments at Angelo State University, you will need to learn Boolean searching. RamCat, as well as most of the databases located within the Online Resources tool permit Boolean searching.

To practice Boolean searching in RamCat, first switch from Basic Search mode to Boolean searching by clicking on the Guided Keyword Search tab located immediately above the Search For: box. Please do this below.

You should now see several Search For: boxes within which you can enter text. Between these boxes are "radio buttons" for AND, OR, and NOT. These are the standard Boolean operators. You will want to memorize them because they are not readily apparent in all databases that utilize Boolean searching.
