Using this Tutorial

This tutorial consists of web pages that may be accessed by:

  1. Using the General Table of Contents in the window to the left in order to find the section of the tutorial desired.
  2. Clicking on the Detailed Table of Contents in the lower portion of the upper window and accessing the pertinent page.
  3. Using the (image) arrows in the lower portion of the upper window to move to the immediately preceding or following web page.

To move up and down in any tutorial window to view all the available content, use the scroll bar to the right of the window.

Off Campus Access

If you cannot connect to a database and are presented with a login screen that looks like the image below, you are probably trying to access the database from off campus.  You will not be able to access the relevant database from off campus unless you have a valid ASU email username and password to identify yourself.  Type these in the relevant boxes of the ASU login screen and press the Submit Query button.  You should now be able to access the pertinent database, and proceed with the tutorial instructions in the upper window.

Problems accessing Issues & Controversies?
If you are presented with a login screen when attempting to access the database Issues & Controversies, your computer is most likely set to disallow cookies belonging to this particular Web site. To regain access to this database, simply follow the instructions below.

In Internet Explorer, go to: Tools Menu/Internet Options/Privacy/Edit, type "www.2facts.com" in the address bar and click "Allow".

In Netscape, go to:  Edit Menu/Preferences/Advanced (or Edit Menu/Preferences/Advanced/Scripts & Plugins/in Netscape 6 & 7) and make sure cookies are not disallowed.

In Firefox, go to: Tools Menu/Options/Privacy and click on the + to the left of "Cookies" to make sure cookies are enabled.
