Where can visitors park on campus?
- A limited number of posted visitor parking spaces are available around campus. Visitors are encouraged to stop by the Parking Services Office and pick up a free Visitor Permit. These passes are issued as day permits. Visitors with permits may park in any available parking space in the zone designated on their permit.
- Extended permits are issued on a case-by-case basis.
- Visitor Permits do not allow parking in areas reserved for service vehicles or other special vehicles.
What if I am a visitor with a disability?
- Visitors with state-issued disability placards or license plates may park in spaces designated by signs as disability parking.
- If all disability spaces are full, you are allowed to park in any non-reserved space.
- Do not park in reserved or service spaces.
What if I get a ticket?
- Payment or appeal must be made within 10 days after being issued a citation. Appeal forms must be submitted to the Parking Services Office at 1825 S. Johnson St. (West Annex).
- Violators who accumulate four or more outstanding citations may have their vehicle booted or towed.
What if I lose my permit or it is stolen?
Lost or stolen permits should be reported immediately to Parking Services and ASU Police.
What are the parking zones on campus?
Angelo State University uses a zone parking system. The campus is divided into five zones: A, B, C, D and General Use. The zones allow parking as follows:
Zone A: These are reserved from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for faculty and staff with valid “A” permits.
Zone B: These are reserved from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday for commuter students with valid “B” permits.
Zone C: These are reserved from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for students living on campus with valid “C” permits.
Zone D: These are reserved from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday for commuter students with valid “D” permits for the specific lot. There are currently two “D” zones on campus and they are designated as “Tow Away Zones.” Violators parking in these zones are subject to being towed at the owner’s expense.
Zone A/B/C (General Use): Zones designated as “A/B/C” are considered “General Use” zones. Anyone with a valid ASU parking permit may park in these zones.
Are there any special instructions for contractors or vendors?
A permit is required to park on campus at all times. Permits may not be loaned, sold or transferred to other persons. The permit holder is responsible for citations issued to any vehicles bearing his/her permit, regardless of vehicle ownership.
How can a contractor obtain a parking permit?
Contractor permits allow contractors and vendors access to campus in designated areas. To obtain a contractors permit, contact Parking Services. Short-term permits also may be obtained from the Facilities Planning and Construction Office.
Possession of a permit does not guarantee a parking space on campus. A parking permit signifies that an individual has been granted the privilege of parking a motor vehicle on university property.
