Ms. Anita ReisdorferMs. Anita Residorfer has long been a lover of pets and for many years was involved in various humane organizations in San Angelo. She wanted to take her love of pets and someday turn it into a business. She also had a dream of the business supporting a pet adoption organization that she formed. Anita attended many SBDC seminars and workshops and decided to come in for an advising session to see how she could make her dream a reality.
Ms. Residorfer met with Advisor Karen Best and Director Dave Erickson of the Angelo State University - Small Business Development Center for assistance. Best and Erickson advised her on many aspects of her business, especially on the marketing side. In December 2006, the SBDC conducted a marketing brainstorming session in which the entire SBDC staff helped Ms. Residorfer come up with many good marketing suggestions.
Anita started her business inside a local veterinary clinic and will soon expand her operation to include a bakery. She was very appreciative of the assistance from the SBDC and felt the marketing help and the many seminars she attended were instrumental in her starting the business. She stated she “attended several seminars that have helped with the development of my business.” People for Pets added one job and the potential for many more to the San Angelo economy.
