Reuben Montez

Reuben began selling credit card processing machines many years ago and had been quite successful. Reuben dreamed of owning his own business and felt he could offer these processing machines at a lower cost to new small businesses. After doing much research and analysis Reuben felt it was time to branch out on his own. Reuben came to the Angelo State University · Small Business Development Center for assistance in getting his business started. Reuben met with Advisor Paul Howard for assistance in writing a business plan and management issues.

After meeting with the SBDC Reuben went to work and designed brochures and business cards that he could use in his new business. Reuben also gathered a team of employees that was hand picked and trained by him. Reuben said, “The SBDC helped in giving me direction in starting my new business. They also gave me assistance in management procedures and marketing ideas.”

As a result, Reuben has started a new business and created four new jobs for San Angelo. Reuben is considering branches in Abilene and the Midland/Odessa areas in the not too distant future.
