TLC In-Home Care
Ms. Angela Conley

Ms. Conley came to the Angelo State University – Small Business Development Center with an idea to start her own home care business. Angie was a registered nurse working for a home care company in the area. She was ready to strike out on her own to become the first locally owned home care in San Angelo.

Ms. Conley was ready to research the regulatory requirements while Counselor Maloney conducted the financial analysis, determining the break even point. Ms. Conley conservatively estimated she would be able to hire 25 home care workers in addition to herself and an office manager within the first six months. To obtain the capital she needed to get up and running, Ms. Conley decided to partner with local investors.

When all was complete, Counselor Maloney brought Ms. Conley to the Concho Valley Center for Entrepreneurial Development as low cost office space was available at the local business incubator.

Once TLC In-Home Care was accepted into the incubator, it was time to begin working on the employee manual. Counselor Dave Erickson jumped in to help in an area in which he is considered an expert. This was truly a team effort by all ASU-SBDC staff.

Ms. Conley stated, "Without the help and great support from the SBDC and Ms. Maloney, I would not have been able to pursue my dream of starting my own business.Thank you!"
