Carr Transfer Scholarships

    Carr Presidential Transfer Scholarship

    Students must maintain a 3.0 institutional GPA at the end of each academic year.
    The scholarship will be renewed until you have reached the lifetime maximum.

    Student Status Semester Credit Hours Scholarship Amount
    Full time 12 hours $2,500/Semester
    Part time 9-11 hours $1,875/Semester
    6-8 hours $1,250/Semester

    $10,000 Maximum Lifetime Award

    Qualifications

    • Must be accepted for admissions at ASU
    • Must be nominated by their transfer institution (academic advisor, Dean of Student Life etc.)
    • Must submit a letter of recommendation from the President of the transfer institution on that institutions letter head

    Recommendations from the President should be sent to the Scholarship Programs Office.

    Students must be recommended for the Carr Presidential Transfer Scholarship by the president of the community college or university they currently attend. Institutions may nominate 2 students each academic year. The recommendation letter must be received by the Scholarship Programs Office before the student begins attendance at ASU.

    Carr Transfer Scholarships are only awarded to students that have not received a baccalaureate degree. All official college transcripts must be received and processed by the Outreach and Transfer Services office before the Carr Transfer Scholarship can be awarded. Should a student be nominated for the Carr Presidential Transfer Scholarship already qualify for another Carr Transfer Scholarship, the existing Carr Transfer Scholarship will be cancelled and the Carr Presidential Scholarship will be awarded.

    Application

    You must be accepted for admission to ASU to be considered for this scholarship. Scholarship eligibility will be determined at the time of admission based on the official transcripts you have submitted to the Office of Admissions. Additional official transcripts turned in after the admissions decision may increase your eligibility. All ASU scholarships are subject to availability of funds.  

    Notification

    You will be notified by mail if you are selected for a Carr Presidential Transfer Scholarship.

    Renewal

    Carr Presidential Transfer Scholarship must maintain a 3.0 institutional GPA at the end of each academic year. 

    Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

    The Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) scholarship is for Junior college students who are members in good standing of PTK. Qualified candidates may be eligible to receive a $1,000 award for two years as long as the students are meeting the PTK Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements.

    To Qualify

    Applicants must submit a letter from their current PTK advisor stating the student is a member in good standing to the ASU Scholarship Programs Office. The letter must be received by the Scholarship Programs Office prior to the first class day for the semester the student will be attending.

    PTK Satisfactory Academic Progress

    The PTK scholarship is renewable for two years as long as the student is meeting the PTK Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements. Students must complete 30 semester credit hours each year and maintain a 3.0 or higher institutional GPA.

    Carr Fellow Transfer Scholarship

    Students must maintain a 3.0 institutional GPA at the end of each academic year.
    The scholarship will be renewed until you have reached the lifetime maximum.

    Full time 12 hours $2,000/Semester
    Part time 9-11 hours $1,500/Semester
    6-8 hours $1,000/Semester

    $8,000 Maximum Lifetime Award

    Qualifications

    • 3.50-4.0 GPA on all transferrable coursework
    • At least 30 transferrable credit hours (not including dual credit)

    Carr Transfer Scholarships are only awarded to students that have not received a baccalaureate degree. All official college transcripts must be received and processed by the Outreach and Transfer Services office before the Scholarship Programs Office can review a student’s eligibility.

    Application

    You must be accepted for admission to ASU to be considered for this scholarship.     The scholarship will be renewed until you have reached the lifetime maximum.

    $3,000 Maximum Lifetime Award

    • 2.50-2.99 GPA on all transferrable coursework
    • At least 18 transferrable credit hours (not including dual credit)
