Division of Strategy, Planning and Policy
The division of Strategy, Planning and Policy is responsible for leading the university-wide strategic and long-term planning process through coordination and integration of the university's goal-setting and resource allocation activities. The division, in collaboration with the campus community, defines, develops, communicates and implements the university's mission, long-term goals and strategic plan.

Additionally, the division directs and coordinates the development and maintenance of the university's policies. The division also provides, through the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness, systematic, timely, official data that can be used to assess and support university goals and objectives.
At ASU, the strategic planning process focuses on the primacy of the institution's mission as enacted through its academic programs. Strategic planning further serves as a platform for the allocation of resources based on an ongoing evaluation of progress toward institutional goals.
