Framework for Future Growth
ASU’s Conceptual Organizational Chart DRAFT
Effective July 1, 2010
An organizational chart serves two purposes: it provides a framework for reporting structures and authority, and it establishes a structure which guides institutional growth. Given ASU’s strategic decision to grow its enrollment to 10,000 students, our organizational chart must reflect both of these priorities, and it must also demonstrate a proactive stance in creating structures that will accommodate our growth.
A version of this organizational chart will go into effect JULY 1, 2010, after we have completed the hiring of two new vice presidents and an associate vice president for enrollment management and after the successful candidates have contributed input to our proposed organizational structure.
When reviewing the chart, please note:
- While the chart is organized by function, new or revised positions are specifically noted, both by title and by a dotted-line border. Roll your cursor over the position to see a pop-up explanation of its responsibilities. Please note that, with the exception of the vice provost for undergraduate education, the vice president for student affairs and the associate vice president for enrollment management, all other new positions are proposed. Their presence in this chart does not necessarily indicate a confirmation of their creation.
- Also included in this organizational chart are functional assignments, as noted by the hexagonal shapes. Roll over each of them to see an explanation of why they are included in the specific area shown.
ASU is entering an exciting time in its history. Our “Framework for Future Growth” is shared with all members of the community to provide an open dialogue about how we will manage our growth and our quest for continued excellence as an institution of higher education.
