Advertising Club
Sponsor:
Dr. Greg Armfield (Communication, Drama & Journalism)
Purpose: to discuss and study advertising as a career; provide and stimulate leadership among all club members in creating advertising and public relations campaigns; maintain and improve professional standards of the advertising field; serve as a clearinghouse for information pertinent to students, faculty and staff interested in advertising techniques; promote skills in radio/TV, print and virtual advertising; and, to compete in the American Ad Federation Ad competition - student division.

American Chemical Society
Sponsor:
Mr. Kevin Boudreaux (Chemistry and Biochemistry)
Purpose: to afford an opportunity for the students of chemistry or related disciplines in physics and biology to become better acquainted; to secure the intellectual stimulation that arises from professional association; to secure experience in preparing and presenting technical material before chemical audiences; to foster a professional spirit among the members; and to instill a professional pride in chemistry.

Angelo State Physical Therapy Association

Ms. Harriet Lewis (Physical Therapy)
Purpose: to discuss and study the methods of physical therapy, providing and stimulating leadership among all undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty and staff in the field; to maintain and improve the professional standards and serve as campus clearinghouse for information pertaining to students and faculty; and to promote research in the field and present it to the organization and the community.

Angelo State Student Reading Council

Purpose: to discuss and study the most effective methods of reading and writing development; encourage the study of reading problems at all educational levels; study the various factors that influence progress in reading and writing; assist in the development of improved teacher-training programs; act as a clearing house for information relating to reading and writing; stimulate and promote research in developmental, creative, corrective, and remedial reading; disseminate knowledge helpful for solving problems related to reading; and, sponsor conferences and meetings.

Arnold Air Society
Sponsor:

Purpose: to aid in the development of Air Force officers; to create a closer and more efficient relationship within the Air Force officer training program; to support the role and tradition of the United States Air Force; to advance air and space age citizenship; and, to promote the purpose and goals of ASU.

Association of Information Technology Professionals

Purpose: to develop a better understanding of the nature and function of information technology; to promote sound general principles in information technology and to study technical methods with a view to their improvement and, to foster among students a better understanding the vital business role of IT, the proper relationship of IT to management and the necessity for a professional attitude among information technology professionals.

Delta Sigma Pi

Purpose: is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities; to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice; to promote closer affiliation between the commercial world and students of commerce; and to further a higher standard of commercial ethics culture and the civic and commercial welfare of the community.

Finance Real Estate Organization

Purpose: to pursue professional and social interaction between students, faculty, and the community through professional programs and social activities and community service projects.

French Club

Purpose: to learn the French language; to conduct regular sessions of conversational French; to promote appreciation and understanding of the French culture; and, to serve as a campus clearinghouse for information pertinent to students, faculty, and staff interested in French culture and language.

Graduate Students' Psychological Association

Purpose:
to bring graduate students of psychology into personal contact with each other to form an atmosphere of intellectual fellowship; to stimulate discussions of scholarly topics; to learn more specialized approaches to individual and group counseling through professional presentations; to promote research interests and an awareness of professional, ethical, and legal standards; and to provide an orientation for pursuing a terminal degree in psychology and/or preparation for psychological association certification.

Kappa Mu Omega

Purpose:
to further the interest and education of persons involved in the field of kinesiology; to provide opportunities for leadership and teamwork for kinesiology majors/minors; to encourage collaboration in all degree options of kinesiology for majors/minors; and, to promote healthy lifestyles and wellness.

Meat and Food Science Association
Sponsor:
Dr. Kirk Braden (Agriculture)
Purpose:
to promote a higher scholastic standing of students pursuing a degree in animal science with a focus on meat science and/or food science. Research performed at the Food Safety and Product Development Laboratory allows for hands-on opportunities and exposure to numerous processes, such as harvesting, fabrication, and the manufacture of case-ready products. It also provides a research laboratory for microbiological testing of these foodstuffs. Distribution of manufactured goods to the public through catering or the "in house" store grants students introduction and prospective opportunities with contacts in the agricultural field, as well as, publicizes Angelo State University.

Phi Alpha Theta

Purpose: to encourage the study of history.

Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia

Purpose: to encourage and actively promote the highest standards of creativity, performance, education, and research in music in America; to develop and encourage loyalty to the Alma Mater; to foster the mutual welfare and brotherhood of students of music; to develop the truest fraternal spirit among its members; and, to instill in all people an awareness of music's important role in the enrichment of the human spirit.

Pi Gamma Mu

Purpose: to study the social sciences; to reward interest and achievement in the college study of social sciences by the conferring of membership upon those who have thus distinguished themselves; to inspire in its honored members social service to humanity and life interest in the study of human association; to seek also a synthesis of all branches of social science into a philosophy of human society and human welfare; and, by such aims, seek to make a contribution to the world in which we live.

The Russian Club

Purpose:
to discuss and study the most effective methods of studying the Russian language; to provide and stimulate leadership; to maintain and improve proficiency levels; to serve as a campus center for the discussion of Russian history, culture, politics, and economics; to enhance the role of the study of the Russian language for the campus community; and to provide an opportunity to meet and interact with visiting persons and organizations from Russia.

Society of Physics Students

Purpose:
to encourage and assist student physicists to develop the knowledge, competence, enthusiasm, and social responsibility that are essential to the advancement of physics; to stimulate interest in advanced study and research; to develop friendship among physics students and faculty members; to popularize interest in physics in the general collegiate public; and to recognize the attainment of high scholarship and potential achievement among outstanding students by means of membership.

Sports Medicine Club

Purpose: to promote interest in all aspects of sports medicine; to provide improvements in the education of all Student Athletic Trainers at ASU; to promote the highest standards of health care for student athletes at ASU; and, to create friendship between its members and with the general public.
