Academic Server Procedures
- Academic departments may set up internet servers and are required to complete an information resource survey for the Office of Information Technology. The Office of Information Technology will require an updated survey any time additional services could impact campus network capacity.
- Academic departments should identify educational services they wish to provide within their departments. These services may include class mailing lists, discussion groups, WWW, distance education, remote programs, programming, research, etc . . .
- Academic departments are expected to provide their own hardware, software, and personnel resources necessary to create and to maintain a departmental server. Oversight of a departmental server will be provided by the departmental contact person stated in the information resource survey.
- Academic departments supporting ASU Web sites and pages must be familiar with the Web Policies and Procedures. Content providers are responsible for the content of the pages they publish and are expected to abide by the highest standards of quality and responsibility.
