VPN Software for Windows

Download for Windows

It is necessary for you to download the correct VPN software for your version of Windows or you will not be able to log on.

Which version do I need?

Click the Start button, right-click Computer (or My Computer), and click Properties.

Under the System section, if you see “64-bit Operating System”, or “x64 Edition” listed, you are running a 64-bit version of Windows.

Students:

32-bit version

64-bit version

Faculty/Staff:

32-bit version

64-bit version


Installation Instructions

Step 1

Click the appropriate link under Download above to either Run or Save the installer. If you chose Save, double-click it to run it from where it was saved.

Step 2

When the Welcome dialog appears, click Next.


Step 3

Agree to the license terms and then click Next.


Step 4

Leave the destination folder as the default and click Next.


Step 5

Installation is ready to begin. Click Next.


Step 6

Wait for installation to complete. This may take a few minutes.


Step 7

Installation is complete. Click Finish.


Step 8

The computer will need to restart to complete installation. Save any open files in other programs. Click Yes to reboot.


Usage Instructions

Step 1

Open the VPN Client from the Start Menu by navigating to Start > Programs > Cisco Systems VPN Client > VPN Client.

Step 2

Once the program is open, highlight the profile that you would like to connect with. Students must use the Students profile. Faculty and Staff must use the Faculty-Staff profile. Click the Connect button near the top of the program.


Step 3

Once the connection is established, enter your ASU username and password and click OK.


Step 4

When you have authenticated successfully, a message box will appear. You must agree to the logon banner to complete the connection by selecting Continue. The VPN Client software has now successfully connected to the ASU network.


Step 5

When you are finished using the VPN client, open the program from the start menu or double click on the padlock in the task bar and click the Disconnect button. Once the client is disconnected, you may close the program.
