Duo Security

ASU Faculty and Staff are required to use Duo Security, a secure and easy-to-use two-factor authentication service, when logging into some campus software.

Duo enhances the protection and security of campus information systems by requiring users to complete a second form of authentication, using their mobile device, in addition to username and password. Duo authentication is required when logging into all applications that use the RamPort login.

  1. Enroll, Add, or Remove Devices

You must first set up your account to work with Duo by using the Device Management Portal to register your device. You can also add or remove devices and modify your options at the Device Management Portal.

  2. Install Duo on your Mobile Device

After enrolling in Duo, you must install and configure the Duo Mobile app on your registered device.

  3. Use

Now you are ready to start using two-factor authentication when logging in to Duo-enabled campus services.

What is Two-Factor Authentication?

Two-factor authentication (2FA), also referred to as multi-factor authentication or MFA, is a feature that improves security by requiring two methods to verify your identity. These methods can include something you know - like a username and password - plus something you have - like a smartphone app - to approve authentication requests making your login have “two steps” for added protection.
