“Heart” your Heart

February 04, 2015

The symbol most closely associated with love is the heart.  During American Heart Month, do all you can to “heart” your heart?

This is a month dedicated to the heart. In addition to Valentine’s Day, February is also American Heart Month where we can educate ourselves on heart health, how to recognize symptoms of heart disease, how to prevent heart disease, and how to help loved ones at risk for heart disease.

Where can I find information about heart health?

A variety of heart health resources are available at the Library in both tangible and electronic formats. Books, eBooks, DVDs, and Streaming Videos are a few of the items available by searching RamCat . Scholarly articles may be found by using U-Search. Some suggested search terms are “heart health”, “heart disease”, or “cardiovascular fitness”.

Information may also be found from reputable organizations such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the American Heart Association.

Take time this month to learn more about how to “heart” your heart in every way you can!
