Undeclared Advising Information

Students that choose Undeclared are required to select an Exploratory Track. This will help you discover your interests and options with the goal of declaring a major by the time you complete 30 credit hours.   • Arts and Humanities Exploratory Track

    Is this track right for you?

    • Do you enjoy taking writing, literature, art, music, theatre, history or language classes?
    • Do you consider yourself creative and have diverse interests?
    • Do you like to read?
    • Are you more comfortable dealing with concepts and ideas rather than concrete data?
    • Are you interested in law, debate, government and politics?
    • Are you interested in graphic and/or Web design?
    • Do you enjoy performing as an actor or musician?
    • Do you want to develop language skills other than English?

  • Business Exploratory Track

    Is this track right for you?

    • Do you enjoy numbers and data analysis?
    • Do you like to work with people and have strong verbal and communication skills?

    • Do you like to organize and assume responsibilities?
    • Does working in a business environment appeal to you?
    • Are you good at analyzing, comparing and interpreting data?
    • Are you interested in Technology and IT related fields?

  • Education Exploratory Track

    Is this track right for you?

    • Do you have a strong desire to make a difference in the world?
    • Are you patient and organized?
    • Do you enjoy working with children?

  • Life Sciences and Health Professions Exploratory Track

    Is this track right for you?

    • Do you enjoy your mathematics and science classes?
    • Are you motivated, have a great memory and the ability to think logically?
    • Do you like to participate in lab experiments?
    • Are you concerned about the state of the environment and want to work to improve it?
    • Are you interested in agriculture?
    • Are you interested in health-related professions?
    • Do you want to work with sick people or animals and have a strong sense of responsibility and sound judgement?

  • Mathematics, Engineering, Physical Sciences and Technology Exploratory Track

    Is this track right for you?

    • Do you like your mathematics and science classes?
    • Is your Math ACT/SAT score higher than your English or Verbal Score?
    • Do you make decisions based on what you think or know rather than how you feel?
    • Are you good with numbers and have the ability to think logically?
    • Are you good at analyzing, comparing and interpreting data?
    • Do you like to investigate how things fit together or what makes something work?
    • Do you have a mechanical aptitude and interest in technology?
    • Do you like to participate in activities that involve touching, building, experimenting, or drawing?
    • Are you interested in Technology and IT related fields?

  • Social and Behavioral Sciences Exploratory Track

    Is this track right for you?

    • Do you enjoy working with others?
    • Do you understand and take interest in peoples’ thoughts, feelings and emotions?
    • Do you find human behavior interesting?
    • Are you interested in law and human nature and have the ability to correlate and
    • reason?
    • Do you enjoy helping people?
    • Do you want to work with people on the margins of society or who have significant life
    • challenges?
    • Are you interested in conflict resolution, criminal justice or mediation?
