Admission Formula
[GPA x 100] + Quantitative + Verbal + Converted Analytical ≥ 740
GRE Analytical Writing Conversion Scale
The GRE Analytical Writing sub test is scored on a scale of 1-6. This score is converted to the metric of the other sub tests as follows:
1.0-2.0 = 130
2.5 = 135
3.0 = 140
3.5 = 145
4.0 = 150
4.5 = 155
5.0 = 160
5.5 = 165
6.0 = 170
Admission Requirements
- Transcript from baccalaureate degree awarding university or college (Upload unofficial transcripts, with the exception of Angelo State University transcripts, for application evaluation purposes using the Graduate Studies Documents for Submission form.)

M.Ag. Essay Topic (You may submit your essay with your graduate school application or by using the Graduate Studies Documents for Submission form.)
- In your opinion, what is the No. 1 challenge facing the agriculture industry today, and why? Also, what are your background and career goals related to agriculture?
- GRE Scores (If an applicant has at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA, or a 3.0 GPA for the last 60 hours of coursework, then the GRE requirement is waived.)
- Two Academic Letters of Reference (submit letters from former collegiate instructors to the department at ag@angelo.edu)
- Current Curriculum Vitae or Résumé (submit to the department at ag@angelo.edu)
Prerequisites
- Hold a bachelor’s degree with a GPA of 2.5 or better, including all grades on repeated courses – or hold a bachelor’s degree with a GPA of 3.0 or better in the last 60 hours of undergraduate work.
- Completion of a minimum of 24 credit hours of undergraduate course work in animal science, agriculture, range management, wildlife management or agronomy, including 12 credit hours of advanced course work.
