Athletic Academic Advising Certificate
Start or advance your career as an advisor for student-athletes on college or university campuses.
About the Program
- All courses are offered totally online for you convenience.
- Learn the organizational communication skills you need while you practice designing, implementing and promoting academic advising programs.
- You can complete this program in 12 months or less, depending on course availability, your start date and how many courses you take each semester.
Admission Requirements
Post-Master’s and Post-Baccalaureate
- Application for Admission
- $40 application fee ($50 for international students)
- All college or university transcripts

Prerequisites
Post-Master’s
- Master’s degree from an accredited university
- Résumé
- One letter of recommendation
Post-Baccalaureate
- Bachelor’s degree with an overall GPA of at least 2.75, including repeated courses - or a bachelor’s degree with a GPA of at least 3.0 in the last 60 credit hours of undergraduate work
- A three-paragraph writing sample explaining:
- Why you want to be accepted to the program
- What you will bring to the program
- What you expect to get out of the program
- Résumé (used to evaluate pre-professional competencies)
- Three letters of recommendation
*The GRE is NOT required for enrollment, thought it may be necessary for evaluation of international students.
Credit Requirements
This graduate-level certificate program consists of 15 credit hours. That means you only have to complete five courses to earn your certificate.

Applications are accepted year round. Admission may be granted in the fall, spring or summer.
