About the Program

- Gain insight into cybercrime while you learn digital, mobile and network forensic investigative techniques.
- Acquire the knowledge and skills to work in cybercrime investigations for law enforcement agencies, corporations and consulting firms.
According to the FBI, the cybercrime threat by criminals, overseas adversaries and terrorists is incredibly serious and growing. And, ZipRecruiter reports that the average salary for cybercrime investigators in the U.S. is about $100,000 per year.
Admission Requirements
- Application for Admission
- All college and/or university transcripts
- Essay of no more than 750 words discussing an aspect of cybercrime investigation
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree with an overall GPA of at least 2.75, including repeated courses - or a bachelor’s degree with a GPA of at least 3.0 in the last 60 credit hours of undergraduate work
Note: Applications not meeting GPA requirements will be viewed on a case-by-case basis by the department chair.
Credit Requirements
This graduate-level certificate program consists of 12 credit hours. That means you only have to complete four courses to earn your certificate.
Once you earn your certificate, you can also apply the credits toward an online Master of Science in criminal justice degree right here at Angelo State.
Application Deadlines
Our graduate certificate program is the first of its kind in Texas offered through a criminal justice program rather than a computer science program.
