What Can You Do With an Economics Degree?
-

“I have no doubt, had I not gone through the Angelo State business school myself, that I would be anywhere near where I am today. It’s an honor to own a San Angelo-based business and give back to the university who helped me grow into an entrepreneur. Knowing I can directly influence the next generation of business-owners is an incredible feeling.”

Blake Vincent, Class of 1996

Free Market Institute
Our branch of the Texas Tech University Free Market Institute helps us develop our teaching and research in economics to make sure our curriculum stays on the cutting edge. It also brings in prominent economists from across the country for special presentations. You’ll get to network with some of the top economic minds in the U.S.
You can engage with professionals at local businesses, firms and nonprofit agencies through our internship and shadowing programs. You can also participate in our McLane Teammates Reading Program and delve into current economic topics. It could lead to a $1,000 scholarship! These types of experiences will give you an advantage when it comes to applying for jobs or for graduate school.
You can gain a global perspective of business and economics on our annual summer study abroad trip to Europe. You’ll visit cities in Austria, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Slovakia and Spain that host numerous multinational corporations and other international organizations. You’ll also get to visit various historical sites to truly broaden your horizons.
