What Can You Do With a Degree in Civil Engineering?

Start your career as soon as you graduate. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that employment for civil engineers is expected to grow by over 20,000 jobs by 2031, with a median annual salary of $88,000.

Our graduates can expect to find career opportunities in the energy industry, surveying, geotechnical engineering, construction and land development, transportation systems, water resources, structural engineering and similar fields.

Dynamic Facilities

You’ll spend a lot of time in our Hunter Strain Engineering Labs. This $4.5 million, 8,000-square-foot facility houses several labs essential to a strong civil engineering program, including the Hydraulics Lab, Geotechnical Lab and Construction Materials Lab. They are all stocked with the latest in high-tech engineering equipment for hands-on learning and research.

Our RAMgineers student organization will provide you with multiple networking and professional development opportunities. You’ll also have the chance to compete against teams from other schools in state and national civil engineering and surveying competitions. Ever tried concrete bowling? Here’s your chance! We also have a chapter of the Society for Women Engineers.
