Essay
In 500 words, speak to your goals in seeking a master’s degree in English addressing the following questions:
- Why are you seeking a master’s degree in English? How will the program at ASU help you meet your specific personal and/or career goals?
- How has your previous coursework or experience prepared you for graduate study? (If your coursework was primarily in a different discipline, how do you think the knowledge and the skills you gained are applicable to English.)
- Are there any specific classes you took, texts you read, or projects you completed that made you want to pursue further study in English?
- Are there any circumstances that may have affected your academic record/GPA that you would like to share with the admissions committee? Are there any challenges you may face while working on your graduate degree?
Please submit the essay with the graduate school application or using the Graduate Studies Documents for Submission form.
